Supported browser-local processing
JPEG tools parse marker segments and can remove recognized EXIF, XMP, IPTC and comment segments. PNG tools walk chunk structures, validate chunk CRCs and remove supported text, time and EXIF chunks while preserving image-data chunks. WebP tools inspect RIFF chunks and remove recognized EXIF/XMP chunks, updating extended headers where present.
Data redaction
Text and log patterns are heuristic; they can miss information and cause false positives. JSON key redaction requires explicit key names and traverses nested objects. CSV cleanup replaces selected column values and keeps the remaining CSV structure.
Verification
Cleaned image formats are re-parsed after export to confirm removal of targeted metadata categories. Other metadata can remain, including ICC profiles and unknown proprietary chunks. Pixels and document attachments are not inspected for secrets.
Important limitations
PDF inspection is a basic text-marker presence scan, not a complete PDF parser or metadata remover. Browser image re-encoding may affect orientation, color and quality. The application does not upload files for analysis.
