JPEG / JPG
Supported markers: EXIF APP1, XMP APP1, IPTC/Photoshop APP13, and comments. ICC profiles are retained to avoid unintended color shifts. EXIF GPS check detects standard GPS pointers, not geographical information visible in the photo.
PNG
Supported metadata chunks: tEXt, zTXt, iTXt, eXIf and tIME. The cleaner retains critical image chunks and color profiles. Corrupted chunk CRCs cause the tool to reject input rather than pretend a damaged file is clean.
WebP
Supported RIFF chunks: EXIF and XMP, including VP8X metadata flag updates. ICCP and visual content are retained.
Text, JSON, CSV, URLs
Plain text redaction uses clear patterns; JSON processes valid JSON only; CSV supports quoted fields and escaped quotes. URL tools use the browser URL parser and may remove parameters important to app behavior.
Only a heuristic scan for plain-text PDF metadata keywords. This does not clean or reliably audit encrypted, object-stream or compressed metadata.
